There is something about a Gainesville wedding.
The way the oak trees stretch wide and heavy with Spanish moss. The warm Florida light filtering through historic brick courtyards. The mix of refined garden venues and wide open ranches just outside the city. It feels grounded, emotional, and full of life.
As a Gainesville wedding photographer, I capture celebrations with bold color, real movement, and emotion that feels alive. Not stiff posing. Not trendy for the sake of trendy. Just honest moments layered with editorial guidance so your images feel effortless and elevated at the same time.
If you’re planning a Gainesville wedding and want photographs that feel vibrant, soulful, and completely you, you’re in the right place.
When you hire a local Gainesville wedding photographer, you’re not just hiring someone with a camera. You’re hiring someone who understands the light here. The humidity. The timing of golden hour under the oaks. The way downtown brick reflects warmth at sunset.
I know how to photograph:
The soft light inside the Baughman Center
The garden elegance of Sweetwater Branch Inn
The rustic charm of Rustic Oaks Ranch
The refined historic feel of Thomas Center
The modern downtown vibe of The Wooly
Each venue has its own personality. My job is to honor it while keeping your story front and center.
I believe your story is told best in the real stuff. The in between glances. The tight hand squeezes. The way your people look at you when you are not even paying attention. I photograph weddings in a documentary way that feels honest and full of life, layered with an editorial touch that keeps everything elevated and beautiful.
I’ll step in with direction when you need it. I’ll step back when you don’t. You will never feel stiff or overly posed, just supported, comfortable, and completely seen.
Your wedding isn’t one size fits all. The way you celebrate, the people you surround yourself with, the pace of your day it all matters. That’s why my collections are designed with room to breathe, giving you exactly what you need for a smooth, joy filled experience from start to finish.
Your wedding photos should feel like your day actually felt.
The deep breath before you walk down the aisle.
The way your friends scream when you’re announced.
The tight squeeze from your mom when no one else is looking.
My approach blends documentary storytelling with intentional direction when needed. I’ll step in to guide you into beautiful light. I’ll fix your veil before portraits. I’ll hype you up before you walk into your reception.
But I’ll also step back and let real moments unfold.
Expect:
• Rich, true to life color
• Emotional candids
• Editorial inspired portraits without the stiffness
• Movement, joy, and connection
• A calm presence with big best friend energy
Your gallery should feel timeless in 20 years, not dated by a trend.
What It’s Like to Work Together
From the moment you inquire, I’m here to make this easy.
You’ll receive a detailed wedding guide. Timeline support. Vendor recommendations. Location scouting if needed. I help you build a photography timeline that protects your golden hour and your dance floor.
On wedding day, I move with intention. I know when to direct. I know when to disappear into the background.
Afterward, you’ll receive a curated gallery filled with bold color, big emotion, and the in between moments that made your Gainesville wedding yours.
Most couples book 8 hours of coverage. Some choose 6 for intimate celebrations. Full day storytelling tends to create the most complete gallery experience.
Downtown brick streets.

Open fields just outside town.

Your engagement session is where we build comfort and connection. You learn how I guide. I learn how you move together. By wedding day, everything feels natural.
If you're searching for a Gainesville wedding photographer who also offers engagement sessions that feel playful, romantic, and full of movement, that’s part of the experience here.
Sweetwater Branch Inn
Sweetwater Branch Inn feels like Southern garden romance at its best. With historic Victorian homes, brick pathways, and sprawling oak trees, it creates such a warm and intimate setting. The golden hour light here filters beautifully through the trees, making portraits feel soft, vibrant, and full of movement. It’s perfect for couples who want charm, character, and that tucked-away garden party vibe.
The Thomas Center
The Thomas Center has timeless elegance written all over it. The Mediterranean-style architecture, courtyard ceremony space, and clean neutral tones make colors truly pop in photographs. It feels refined but never stuffy — ideal for couples who want something classic, romantic, and full of Gainesville history.
Baughman Center
Nestled lakeside on the University of Florida campus, the Baughman Center offers stunning stained glass windows and incredible natural light during ceremonies. It’s intimate and meaningful, especially for couples with ties to UF. The water views and peaceful surroundings create such a heartfelt backdrop for vows.
The Wooly
For downtown energy and a reception that feels alive, The Wooly is always a favorite. Exposed brick walls and an industrial-modern aesthetic give it personality, and once the dance floor opens up, the space absolutely transforms. It’s perfect for couples who want bold celebration energy and photos that capture movement and joy.
Santa Fe River Ranch
Santa Fe River Ranch blends rustic charm with an elevated ranch feel. Rolling pastures, waterfront views, and barn-style architecture create a setting that feels both expansive and intimate. The sunsets here are incredible — warm, glowing, and made for emotional portraits that feel cinematic and true.

WHAT TIME SHOULD WE SCHEDULE OUR CEREMONY FOR?
Pay attention to where the sun is at your ceremony location. Look at when sunset is for that day and if daylight savings time plays a role for your wedding day.
- Emma Carter & Jack Reynolds
“From the moment we first connected, Nikki made us feel seen, heard, and valued. She didn’t just capture our wedding day; She captured us. Every little detail, every stolen glance, every burst of laughter — all the moments we didn't even realize were happening. When we look through our photos, we don’t just see images, we feel the joy, the love, the electricity of that day all over again."
- Zoe Harrison & Max Walker
"She was prepared for anything — rain, wind, unexpected changes — and her excitement was infectious. Our photos are beyond breathtaking; they feel alive. Each one takes us right back to that cliffside, feeling the wind in our hair and the love in our hearts. If you’re looking for someone who will go above and beyond to tell your love story, look no further."
- Ava Brooks & Noah Bennett
"From our first meeting, she put us at ease with her warm personality and genuine passion for storytelling. On our elopement day, she was right there in the moment with us, guiding us when we needed it and fading into the background when we wanted to soak in the experience. The result? Stunning photos that are raw, real, and impossibly beautiful."
