Miami is gorgeous year-round, but if you’re planning a wedding here, timing matters. Weather, humidity, sunsets, crowds, and hurricane season can all affect your wedding day experience (and your photos).

Here’s a breakdown of the best time of year to get married in Miami, plus what to expect month-by-month.

The Best Months for a Miami Wedding

✅ November through April (Peak Season)

This is the sweet spot for Miami weddings.

Why it’s the best:

  • Cooler weather
  • Lower humidity
  • More comfortable for outdoor ceremonies
  • Glowy sunsets + dreamy light

If you want an outdoor ceremony, this is the season I recommend 10/10.

What About Summer Weddings in Miami?

May through September (Hot + Humid)

Summer weddings can absolutely be beautiful but they need planning.

Expect:

  • High humidity
  • Quick sweating (especially during ceremony/portraits)
  • Sudden rain storms
  • More bugs outside

If you’re doing summer:
Choose an indoor venue or a shaded ceremony space + build in breaks.

Hurricane Season (What Couples Should Know)

Miami hurricane season runs June through November, with peak months generally being August through October.

This doesn’t mean you can’t get married then but you should:

  • choose a venue with a solid backup plan
  • invest in wedding insurance
  • build flexibility into travel plans

Best Month-by-Month Breakdown

January–March

Best weather of the year
Cooler nights, low humidity, perfect for outdoor weddings.

April

Still amazing weather, but warming up.
Great light, beautiful spring vibes.

May

The transition month.
Still great, but humidity begins creeping in.

June–August

Summer heat peak.
If you love tropical vibes and don’t mind heat, it can work — but prioritize indoor comfort.

September–October

Warm, humid, and storm-prone.
These are my least recommended months for outdoor-heavy weddings.

November–December

Miami’s glow-up season begins again.
Perfect weather and beautiful sunsets.

Best Ceremony Time for Miami Weddings

If your ceremony is outside, avoid midday.

Best ceremony time:

  • 60–90 minutes before sunset (best light + comfortable temps)

This also gives you:

  • glowy portraits
  • gorgeous cocktail hour light
  • sunset couple photos
